In the midst of Question Week, we’re pleased to share this important breaking news: Our partners at The Right Question Institute (RQI) have just announced the launch of an ambitious new campaign to bring the Question Formulation Technique—RQI’s acclaimed protocol for developing students’ thinking abilities and curiosity—into a million classrooms by the year 2020. RQI’s “Million Classrooms Campaign” is part of a larger project made possible with the support of a generous grant from the John Templeton Foundation for “Activating and Demonstrating Greater Curiosity by Learning to Ask Questions.”
The “Million Classrooms Campaign” builds upon the hard work of what can only be described as an “educator-led movement” to deliberately foster the ability of all students to ask better questions. In the four years since Harvard Education Press published Make Just One Change: Teach Students to Ask Their Own Questions in September 2011, the Question Formulation Technique, without any requirement or mandate, has been embraced by educators in more than 100,000 classrooms all around the world.
You can find out more about the Question Formulation Technique in the “How Do We Teach Kids to Question” post on the AMoreBeautifulQuestion.com site. In fact, it’s also at the top of our list of recommended Question Week activities!
Congratulations to RQI on this exciting news.
